Volunteers at Woody Point Special School donate their time to support the students learning outcomes. This could be in the class supporting students with reading, literacy, communication and cooking or community engagement. Volunteers also bring their interest and skill base to the school by maintaining the gardens, photocopying or by compiling teacher resources.
Each volunteer completes the Department of Education mandatory training for volunteers. A volunteer requires a Queensland working with Children Check; the school can assist you with this process. The blue card system regulates activities, which are essential to children's lives. This is made up of three parts: screening, ongoing monitoring and risk management strategies.
Volunteers are a valued member of the school that donate their time to support the students and school. If you are interested in volunteering at Woody Point Special School please contact the Education Program Officer on 3480 4333.
