Woody Point Special School: Student Dress Code
The Woody Point Special School uniform consists of a blue unisex polo shirt, which is available for order from the school office. The school P&C provide one free uniform shirt to newly enrolled students as a welcome gift.
Families are asked to purchase navy blue, shorts, skirts, skorts or tracksuits from retailers to best meet the needs and preferences of their children. The school has a uniform swap rack where parents can trade used uniforms for free and the school chaplain is able to arrange support for families experiencing difficulty affording new or replacement uniforms. Students are also asked to wear a hat to school every day for sun protection at playtime and during outdoor learning experiences.
We would encourage all students to wear closed in shoes, runners / sneakers, however again we appreciate that due to sensory intolerances some students need to remove their shoes at certain times during the day.
All students are encouraged to wear their uniform as often as possible, however there are no consequences for students out of uniform.
It is understood, that for a variety of reasons many students may require time to adjust to wearing a school uniform, or require an alternative option. Woody Point is happy to take a flexibly approach to school uniforms to meet student individual needs.
